I made my connection to the ICC following this blog 100%:

the picture on the ICC is very blurry, it also has quite alot of white snow on the screen - making it unreadable. Surley this isn't normal?

What could be the issue?

Standard VGA puts out a 31khz signal whereas your ICC requires a 15.7khz (CGA) signal to sync the display. The display is a native 400x240p but it works for us as a 480i. There are a few ways of overcoming this problem - VGA to CGA adapter, they do work and there's been a bit written on these. If you are using the adapter and following the instructions to the letter, make sure your cga converter is actually receiving 5v, is set to ntsc and check your wiring.

Its just another way of doing things. The upside is you can have 800x480i resolution to work with and hopefully a clearer picture. You'll find various modlines for 800x480i (its a neg sync) and It works with intel integrated graphics and most amd for sure (I've run it on an intel myself). You can get it to work on windows 8 but powerstip doesn't play ball so do your setting tuning on an older windows version, then carry those over.


I've included this for ANYONE reading this - you can use this little IC to run the same BA compatible equipment on an FG (once you invert the sync, which the link shows you how to do), or you can use it as a H/V sync combiner too(apparently).
