It may be stock but it is another line of defence against theft. yeah, but that's what the new alarm is for. Not many people take much notice of a car alarm these days. But i suppose it would be better than nothing! Thats why I got a 2-way alarm, it lets me know if something happens.

well the relay I hooked up (as above) did the trick.
Beware, the {DESCRIPTION} information in the doco section appears incorrect (at least teh boot release wire, I haven't checked the rest of it), the right wire from the BEM>boot was not in the pin location specified, and cause they gave no colour, I resorted to my Gregory's and a multimeter to confirm.

EF = Works all the time.
EFII = Doesnt work once key is out. EL = Will work for 2 min after key is turner to off or removed from ignition. Your car is doing the right thing for an EF.

An EL. EL BEMs added a 'feature' that disables to boot release button (in car) I guess so a drug crazed break in would have 5 more seconds to waste by jumping in the back seat to get to the percieved goodies in the boot.

hey guys, i have an alarm installed in my car, but have 2 controls. 1 to lock the car, 1 to arm the alarm. The alarm could do it all, arm and lock the car, but how do i get around the Interiour light delay??? That circuit is used to trigger the alarm so as soon as you arm it thinks a door is left open and beeps at you. Is there a way of tapping into the smartlock lock signal that turns the light off as you lock????? if you know what i mean.
The car is a 1998 AU Fairmont. Cheers |

crap. I was hoping there was a wire i can tap into. Would i have to put in some switches to trigger it or what, as the AU doesnt have the old push in style door switches, there built into the latch or something.
