Hey Guys, Just installed new sound system, piooner 1200Watt sub and Pioneer 800W Mono Bloc Amp, + new head unit. Its all working nicely, but i am getting a lot of vibration throuhg the boot which is cause lots of noise outside the car. Inside the car no vibration can be heard but when standing outside it is very loud. Any ideas whats causing it, And even better how i can fix it to stop the vibrating noise
Thanks in advance for your help. Jamie...... |

its usually the number plate, use rubber spacers, or the reinforcing of you boot lid, dynamat it, or put sikaflex in the gaps.

The boot release thingo rattles in mine, as does the spolier, the number plate, underneath the car (round the fuel tank), bracing on boot....
And thats after a hit of silicon about the place which cut out rattles. Use Flashtac from bunnings (like dynamat), expanda foam, silicon, sikaflex...... chunks of foam pads... you really gotta b creative to stop rattles. |

Head to bunnings and pickup a $10 tube of silicon adhesive of some sort. Run the silicon all around the edges and gaps of the frame under the bootlid and then a big squirt under the number plate. I did this and it made a 100% improvement in the bootlid. The vibrations are not audible at all from inside the car now. This can be a little messy if you don't have a bootlid carpet though.

I'm 100% certain you would not be able to cut out the rattles in my car, unless you welded everything together, and then welded the bootlid down....

SIKAFLEX, if it can't be fixed with sikaflex, it can't be fixed.

Lol, I have two 12 inchers and they destroyed my boot. They broke the honeycomb which holde the bootlid sheet steel to the boot lid frame, hence $h!t loads of vibrations out side of car.
but I put some Dynamat Xtreme on the underside of my boot lid and now its perfect, and I got more bass now too.

its in a tube its silicon very bloody strong stuff,
when i last worked in a panel shop we sikaflexed the painters car to the floor (used 2 tubes of it on the tires he could not move it stalled it a few times and thought something was broken till he got out and had a look. . you can get it in black or white. many panel shops use it to stick badges and side molds back on cars very strong stuff
