first of all. to any auto sparky that read this. i feel sorry for ya, spending all day under the dash of a car . Any way my break lights are not working but i have found the prob, well i think i have... just to get it out of the way, my car has some sort of after market switch that turns the break light on and off and i think that this is what has screwed up. there is a small spring loaded device connected to the top of the break but i am not sure if it supposed to be there or if it has just been jerry rigged up for the on/off switch. when i push this device up break lights come on, but when i push the break peddle no break lights. Ah one more thing, that little device on the break peddle is it supposed to be there or is it after market?
Does anyone know how i can fix this prob or should i just take it to a auto sparky? Cheers Pictures: (sorry if they are a little blurry, its hard to use a camera in such a small place ) http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii24 ... ure004.jpg http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii24 ... ure003.jpg http://i266.photobucket.com/albums/ii24 ... ure002.jpg |

may be for a trailer but i dont have a tow bar and i cant see any electrics for it at the back. my guess would be that it is all for the on/off switch i got. god knows why it was installed in the first place

i have removed the switch. but unable to get a replacement one today what part of the switch is it that breaks? just looking at the part it seems to be fine. the spring looks to be in good condition.
