Very nice.. Are they bright enough with the blue led's? I used white ones.
Also I had a sticky temp dial aswell, the trick is to not to push them all the way as EFFalcon said. One other thing I need to say, and this doesn't apply to you shoony as I see you are recovering the cost of printing. That is my designs arent allowed to be sold for profit. Theyre a donation to fordmods as these dash mods are only made possible by the collective efforts of people here.

Don't forget i also donated $10 per template to the fordmods forums anyway... so in a way, the people here are getting paid for their hard work

Hey Shoony, I got mine through yesterday, thanks mate
The "strange semi-transparent stuff" wasn't exactly what I expected and to me it looks just like that normal powdery finish type photo paper. None the less, they look the goods and with any luck the ink printers use may last longer than the stuff we use in our printers... wobbo, if you're talking about the clear OHP type films then I think they'd be no good as they let too much light through and you'd find very pinpointed illumination, even with the sanded leds. bug and others with white leds, what MCD rating were they ??

not sure what the NARVA bulbs use. But I added some extras for the TC and Odometer LCDs, and they're 10,000MCd

And the 10k's put out enough light ?
I'm looking at using 8mm 140000 mcd whites so they should do (any hopefully just fit!)

The guy at the photo shop told me the paper is the stuff they use in backlit posters etc. You know, where there's a colour image being lit from behind by fluoro's... apparently it's designed to vivify the colours when lit from behind. In other words, the colour parts will let more light through than the black areas, which is exactly what we want. I'm not sure if this helps, but the computer at the photo place identified the stuff as "Epson Canvas" whatever that is.

Yeah the 10Ks with a 390Ohm resistor put out enough light for the LCDs to be visible even in direct sunlight.
I may when feeling rich (they're like $4 each) either upgrade the cluster LEDs to them, or go all out, and put in some 100mm CCFL lights.

10,000MCD LEDs from Jaycar? Where you buying? So far I've only bought the 2 for the TC and Odometer.

Well I could tell you, but I'd have to...
meh I'll tell you A place called oatley electronics. They're just up the road from me and sell sell some cool stuff. Some second hand suplus stuff, some new components, some ex-military stuff! (they used to sell ex-russian military night vision goggles and cool stuff like that , dunno if they still do )

I fitted my new dials today, along with the 8mm LEDs. They're too big to fit into the bulb holders, but they're the exact size to go into the bulb hole, so I just soldered them straight to the board and it worked a treat.
This is a comparison between the standard globes and the LEDs More accurate pic of how it looks of a night. It's hard to photograph as others have said in the past, but it really looks good. Props to shooney and bug!

Wow nice man.. They honestly look alot better than mine.
One thing, that black patch on the tacho can be fixed if you really want to by removing the plastic tunnel for the seatbelt light, bit of work tho (I did it when doing the led screen)
