You have to remember that before the BA no falcon had that filter.
All the same dust and crap still builds up on the evaporator, Ever get in a falcon where you have to turn the AC up full to any air flow? That because the Evap is full of that s**t. |

Turn your climate control to fresh and fan on full, then spray 3-4 mists into the intake. Not too much as you will add to the moisture issue you have in the first place. Hi guys FYI. Got a pollen filter for my BA from Ford today. They retail for $30. I will post pics of mine once i get it out.

Ok guys FYI The Pollen Filter is an option On B series Falcons. I changed mine tonight to find that a mesh filter is fitted in place of the pollen filter when its not used. In a way the mesh filter may be a tad better in not holding moisture and as much germs. Here is a pic of my mesh filter just after i removed it from the car. Was not as bad as i thought considering its never been changed. Excuse the pic quality (taken on mobile in dark garage)
The pollen filter is now in place. Should have taken pic of it but basically it looks the same as a standard paper air filter. A pic of the box and part number is shown if any B series owners want to replace theirs. All you have to do is lower the glove box and then you will see it straight in front up the top / unlock and remove thin cover and pull the filter out. Thanks for the advice from the op about changing it

any advice regarding returning the little plastic strut in the glovebox to where it belongs without being a contortionist?
And cover the annoyance of changing it for the first time and dropping that one little bit of leaf matter into the blower fan that refuses to dislodge & is heard ticking in the fan blades forever more. I did mine many moons ago in the bf & splashed out on a ritzy carbon one to find they just clog up quicker and are one of the filters advised to be changed every 5k, for $40. The mesh works fine, most of us would have been breathing through non filtered systems for years. All this anti-germ business is the reason kids immune systems are insufficient these days.

nice work 93eb, being a falcon i assumed the job wouldve required removing the entire dash, unpicking chassis welds, engine & gearbox out etc, ..........
and to reply to ryda's comment, yes everyone breathes in crap all the time.......... but i see how filthy my car gets just from being out on the road, so if you can prevent that dirt from blowing straight into you and your families faces just by fitting a filter, i would say its a worthy investment. I didnt see a plastic strut. I just undone the clip at the top and gently lowered the glove box. Did not even remove it from the car.
Basically push the clip back until it lets go.

fair enough, then in light of my failure I would advise not to remove the entire glovebox
 though I'm not the only one I know of with this problem. I understand your point fordfairmont, perhaps just go the standard paper instead of the carbon though. I believe it was a bit of a rip. And being a boilermaker and a smoker I'm sure I breathe in more than enough crap that's worse for me than common air. Observation of your electrical appliances with fans in your home will display the same amounts of buildup if not more.
