Straight swap?
Reason I ask is the ones I have in the EF now are noisy. The mechanism 1/2 way down the pillar inside rattles every time I go over little sharp indulations in the road. I hate them. From memory I think the EL ones are an improvement over the EF, and even have an adjuster up the top. If I'm wrong please advise thanks. |

I think in ELs, the Futura and upwards had adjustable (up or down on B pillar) seatbelts. EL GLi (and I think all EFs) had a non-adjustable type so you had better check if they're interchangeable in case you end up with EL adjustable type, for your EF.
All EF, NF and DF cars had black seatbelts while EL, NL and DL got colour coded belts in grey or cappuccino. |

I was able to use the belts from an adjustable car. I changed the bolts and spacer to use them in the EB without the adjuster.

I have EL adjustables in my EF SII, the lower hole is there but not taped. The bolts have a self taping feature so there was no problem creating a thread.

Do you find there a better unit, quieter or is there no difference at all? |

No not really, they rattle where the EF ones can't.

Hmmm interesting - I was pretty sure you could not add the height adjustable seat belts (no, not the buckle part!) to the B pillar due to the lack of hole to bolt into.
Twason - keen to see pics on this |

Straight fit in series II except the thread is missing from the hole but it is there, you do need the pillar trim.

Familiar with the pillar trim requirement...didn't know the hole was in the series II EF / NF / DFs etc |

well that'd make sense actually as I'd swear I've seen nf's with it.
