Looks like the actuators are still cycling so tomorrow I'm going to get a set of front actuators and a tailgate actuator from a EB or ED and put them in. I've never had a single bit of trouble with the EB-ED actuators so I'll be using them - The wreckers yard has a couple of complete EB and ED wagons in at the moment so I'll raid them....Should finally put an end to this persistant Smartlock cycling issue.

You realise the EB/ED wagon runs a different tailgate actuator ??

Cheers for the info. You've saved me from buying the wrong one. I'll get a tailgate actuator from a EF-EL. The EB-ED door actuators are still the same as the EF-EL aren't they?

As long as the EB-ED actuators still fit and work in the EF-EL then I'll use them.

I've found the later ones with the updated internals have more problems with them.... But thats just my experiences.

The Tailgate actuator in the EF/EL wagons is the same as the front doors.

For longterm, I'd suggest going aftermarket actuators, along with an EB/ED wagon rear actuator (kits only have 4 actuators). The aftermarket actuators are a bit harsh in movement, but they sound so much better.
I'm trialling reducing the harshness by splitting the cases and adding a bit more spring loading inside - obviously takes a lot of time testing all of this.
Hopefully though, I'll have a system these cars should've had first time around.

Anyone know if the Smartlock set up in the EL can be reset? Probably can't be but you never know unless you ask.
