I've got an EBII wagon great car, with lots of features.. one feature been strange and wierd problems one after the other.
Anyway, Ive had this for a while, Ive just put up with it. When I unlock the car (say all the doors are locked), then all the buttons come up, all doors unlock like they should, except for one.. the front passenger door. So the button comes up, but the door doesn't open from the outside. I then have to open the door from the inside to let the passenger in, and then when they get out, and I get out, I lock the door.. all buttons go down, but the passenger door is unlocked...I then have to physically lock it from the passenger side key barrel on the door (lucky its not an EL). Also, this was done VERY long ago... and as far as I can remember I THINK I was changing the front speakers when this happened. So, any suggestions? Cheers

Remove the snipper button and see if the fault still occurs.
If that doesn't work, I can't see you getting away with pulling the door trim and fiddling around with the door lock adjusting - the lock rods and the door frame striker. Possibly over the years the door has sagged, adding to the problem ??? I doubt if the actuator is faulty - particularly if it seems to operate normally.

it does the same thing without the sniper button.... Oh well, I guess I'll just have to pull it all apart and take an extra careful observation.
Cheers

Cheers the actuator is probably not connected to the rod that moves the actual door lock up or down (its a part of the door catch mechanism)

What i think is happening is that the link from the actuator to the door lock itself has broken or come off, so the button works, and the actuator SOUNDS like its working, but isnt shifting anything apart from the button. That or its out of adjustment?

ok, so main area of problem seems to be the linkages from the actuator to the lock... makes sense. Are these easy to inspect/replace? Last time I was in there, things weren't the easiest to get to.
Cheers

Try this, leave the door open, close the lock with a screwdriver in the same way as the striker would. Then try locking & unlocking the door using the remote. If it works then door sag and/or striker position are likely causes.
If its still doesn't work then the door lock maybe worn out and need replacing.

I don't have a remote... I'm talking about using a key..
And it opens fine from the inside.. locked, not locked.. Its like that door is seperate from the rest... but the button still works. Cheers

You could pull the snipper button off again, try pressing the snipper arm down - all 4 doors should lock, grap a pair of snipe nose pliers, pull the snipper arm up - all 4 doors should unlock. If this works, then the arm is not getting it's full range of movement via the actuator motion. If it doesn't work, then the arm assy may be cactus.
