Hi guys, I just picked up a 1995 Fairmont Wagon and there is no key pad just one door/ignition key. When I try to lock the door all of the motors in all four doors activate and seem to go through a cycle but they won't lock. Any suggestions please. I just want to lock it up at night.

hi buddy!
i have a 99 au and recently whenever i hit lock on the keypad all of the doors will cycle ! lock unlock lock unlock! maybe 4 times over! i can lock my car with the key but i then have no smartlock active! if i push lock on the key pad as stated above the car will stay unlocked but the smartlock will activate!!!! i have found with my car that when locked via the key all doors will lock bar the back passenger side door!(s**t) i would say the rear passenger actuator(locking mechanism) has s**t its self. so i am just going to take it to a auto electrician and get him to fix it!! i couldn't be bothered doing it myself. pete. |

Thanks Pete, The car is not worth much as I only purchased it for the springs to put into my ute. I just want to keep it locked so some little cretin won't get into it when it's parked outside. I did read somewhere that it was something simple to fix and I thought it had something to do with an interior globe but I changed all of them and it still does the cycle mode as you say, about 4 or 5 times but it won't lock. The battery is not the best so it might be the culprit but if all things are tried and they still won't lock then I'll just have to get the parts off it fast and then sell the car as planned. Cheers mate, Steve.
