Hey, I want to put the central locking from a EB into my EA, can someone tell me if its possible and what I need to do?.....
Once i have it in I am looking at putting EF door trims in and they dont have lock wholes on the trims so I need central locking... Cheers Sipheren |

I would think it would be a lot of f**k around getting the wiring out. I'd say you'd be better off buying a cheap c/locking kit from supercheap, It would be easier and sound better, I hate that Ford central locking sound . Also check to see if there is already wiring in the doors of the EA, like extra plugs and stuff. might only need the acutator things if thats what they are called.
Best of luck! Ben |

you will EBII spec door lock motors which will not fit straight in as the plugs are different. You will then need the smartlock module which is fairly complex and it is wired into the ignition for the immobiliser. you will then need the remote, wiring loom smartlock spec instrument cluster etc etc

To put it another way: For EA's and EB1's, what type of central locking did they have where fitted?
Was it controlled through the BEM or what? Does not have to be the EBII remote style. |

Yes definately, but not all. Early ones didn't , but my 1990 EA 30th Anniversary 'S' Pack did.

EA and EB1s have central locking but it is not remote contolled. Do you want to fit smartlock or just the normal EA style key operated conteral locks?

We have some EBII actuators if its possible they can work with EA wiring/BEM??
Otherwise how do we do it, do we need EA actuators, what else is required? |

EBII locks will not work with the EA wiring the plugs are different

Thankyou.
OK, so now that we have established that what do we need for EA/EB1 style central locking? Cheers. |
