I've recently changed my ebv8 to manual, so i also changed the cluster to a mid series one so i could have a factory tacho. i followed the doco on this site and all went well. the only thing i didn't do was run the extra wire for the volt meter. i kept checking as i went and the volt meter seemed to work straight away so i didn't bother.

the issue i have now is with the fuel guage. it has a mind of its own. some days it works. other days it just sits on empty. other times it sweeps around erratically. is this just a bad earth somewhere? not sure where as all i did was add the wire from the coil for the tacho. is it related to not having run the extra wire for the volt meter?

i'm yet to get it retuned since the manual conversion so the idle is still a bit up and down at times (aftermarket ecu). i've noticed when the idle does fluctuate a bit the volt meter also flickers around a bit. is this the idle affecting the voltage or the voltage affecting the idle? battery is new 520cca and guage sits around 14/15 when running.

any advice appreciated. i have a trip computer fitted so at least i have dte for when the fuel guage doesn't work.
