They are PLCC2 style SMD LED's. The XR/FPV Blue are 440nm in colour. Not that easy to come by, I ended up buying a reel of 3000 and a largish expense.

Its relatively easy to do but can be tedious if you havent soldered SMD components before. I have a full test bench setup to do this sort of stuff, with custom designed software to allow me to calibrate the needles once I put the cluster back together.

There is a post on one of the other ford forums that describes how to do it.

Here's one next to a 5c coin.

They are really small, and if you don't have good soldering experience (quick, accurate, steady hand) and a fine tip, you'll easily damage the cluster/ICC.

If you can do without your ICC for a few days , I can do it. But you will need to remove the icc yourself and re install.

What cost?

Behind the ICC there's several modules, one the BEM, is needed for the car to run. The rest you can get away with (sans radio/CD/aircon).

Thanks guys. I've been asking this question for a couple of weeks now.
I have a BA XT wagon and I put a premium sound ICC in it out of a XR6 and I now have an ICC that lights up blue/purple and a dash that lights up green..
After all the info on how much trouble it sounds like 2 change the color of a standard cluster I think I might just buy an XR one. :D
That way I can put it all back to stock if and when I sell the car..

hi guys just done quick dash light colour change over the weekend by simply colouring over the white LEDs with a blue permanent marker. Don't know how long this will last, but a lot quicker than changing all the LEDs.
