In my mates EB the clock has stopped at 326### so is there a easy fix or do you have to swap the odometer from another EB-ED?

Yep its a tiny little cog thats causing the drama. Mine had 1 broken tooth. I purchased an aftermarket one off a forum member (works at a parts place i think) for $28.

i was going to say not to worry about it but ebing in NSW you will need it working for your rego check each year.

you should be able to get the cogs easy enough if you ask a few ford dealers. if you have any trouble PM me and i will try point you in a good direction

I enquired at my local Ford dealership and was told I had to buy a whole new complete cluster as they dont sell the little cog on its own.

Well 5 years on, I was going to get the cog but my local speedo repair shop would order me the part & they wanted $400 to replace the cog/taking the cluster out & reinstalling the cluster or $200 if I brought the cluster to them, I thought bugger that, since then I have left it alone & to my amazement in the last wekk the clock started to work again then stopped.
The clock stopped at 256976 & now its on 257393 & not working again, lord knows if its the cog or some other issue :?:

Is this it?

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Speedo-Odome ... 416wt_1037

I remember dad taking the cluster out from the eb and handing it over to some auto elect place to get this cog replaced (3-4 years ago now) and from memory it was about $99 and the bloke did it in a day...

It was around Parklea/Blacktown way.

It is stupidly easy to do, takes about an hour in total.

The A hole is ticking over again & it ticks over faster then normal so its like to say by looking at the instructions PDF for fitting the cog that it may be on a higher geared cog!
I will look into ordering the cog or if I can find another cluster with similar km's.

A good auto electrical workshop will charge you no more than $130-$140 to fix it, including the new cogs and clean-up of the odometer faces(they yellow over time...). Had mine done recently and the little cog wasnt brittle, it was like bending a rubber grommet as the grease Fraud used caused the plastic to perish into a rubbery goo. If you are paying an more than the above prices, walk away and key his wheelie bin for your troubles.

By the way, ths price is if you remove the cluster and drop it to them - I have three spare ones so I wasn't inconvenienced...took a day to fix and happily ticking along.
