Has anybody pulled of the needles themselves to put in white dials in their cluster for example?
I've heard that taking the needles off means having to recalabrate after putting them back on beacsue they sit on little bearings?

I think you just slide a fork under and pop them off, but make sure you pop it back on the exact way you found it.

i'm thinking about putting the ones in that have the tickford logo on the speedo side.
Not sure if there is a spot there for a globe, but I'd like to put one in there so it comes up red at night.

I pulled mine off with my fingers - not that hard. And to make them clear i simply scraped the orange off the back of the needles. Worked well

Ive done mine and i just popped them of with a fork but as been said take note where the needles are sitting before hand so you can put them back in the correct place mine seems to be all fine. The other globes in your cluster should be more than enough to light up the ticky wings.

i took my needles out and put them in, is it safe to go by the speedo sensor in the trip comp to re calibrate them? for eg set it to 60, then drive and when it beeps thats when it should be at 60, if its at 55 for example take the needle out and move it up 5km (jus an example) so yeah is the trip comp accurate??

Steve (dcstraight) helped me changed my EL ones to EF white ones. Looks much better than the orange.
As long as you put the needles back at the lowest point you found them, you can blow on them to spin them up and then make sure they come back down to the right 0 spot. The XR cluster backing with tickford wings doesn't have a light behind them, but I was playing with the idea of rigging a shift light up behind it... |

no, they're not illuminated, just printed onto the cluster. |
