gday, i just put an ex interceptor ECU and hp4 chip in my car, and theres a problem with the computer. When i start the car, it revs right up to bout 2000-2500 rpm and sticks for a second, then drops back down to 1400, with my old computer it idled at 1100. Now when i touch the accelerator in N or P it goes up and sticks, then if i touch it some more it goes up further and sticks there, eventually dropping down, and when i put it in park after driving it revs up to 3000rpm sometimes and stays, sometimes creeping up more, then eventually drops down.
I have taken the chip out and it does the same thing, anyone know what could cause this? BTW none of this happened with my stock computer. Any solutions or similar problems?

the idle valve isnt sticking, i cleaned it a month ago,
If i put my regular ECU in and fire it up, it doesnt have this problem and yes its a piggyback chip.

i dont think the chip is causing it though, I got it off a mate from his old car, which the chip is designed for (my car has identical engine mods now)
along with the ECU, right b4 his car was written off he had the same problems with it. It was right after we installed his electronic shift kit.

no its an auto chip, his car was auto as well. chiptorque reckon that this size chip is only good for a manual or a high stall auto. But when my mate had his EF he had no problems with the chip or ECU for a while then it suddenly started one day

i havnt got my volt meter on me, should it be 12 V or less? If theres more than 12 what might the problem be?

shouldnt be higher than 5 volts, i dont work on fords but most cars run from 1v to around 5. higher usually means more it opens, some do work on a frequancy though.
what happens if u have ur throttle open just a little bit and go from p to d. also try unplugging idel valve see what happens and also tps |

if i go from p to d it clunks into gear but then drops to 1000rpm, and tps (throttle position sensor?) where is that?

i had a bmw that had the same problem, not saying its the same thing but it was a faulty 02 sensor, just get a manual and check all ur sensors and outputs from ur ecu and check there valtages to what there suppose to be in the manual and u will find ur problem
