I had troubles the last few days with the car (http://www.fordmods.com/forums/half-dea ... 59734.html), turned out to the be that the control lamp fuse was blown. So I replaced it, reconnected the battery and turned the ingition on for about 30 seconds, then turned it off, then back on and problem was back, checked the fuse again and it has blown again. So I put another one in (5amp higher) and it blew aswell.
Anyone aware of a common cause for this or were to start looking for the cause?

Can anyone confirm what runs from the CRT LP fuse?
I'm looking at the wiring diagram 21-2-3 in the genuine Ford EF/EL Falcon NF/NL Fairlane DF/DL LTD Repair Manual Volume 3, and it's showing H Interior Lamp System and K Radio from it. But why then does the radio system also have it's own RAD CIG LTR fuse?

Havn't touched any. Car was running fine, I changed the fan belt and the oil (+ filter), then day later the problem started.

I know that smartlock and interior lighting come off the fuse.

Could be the memory power runs from the CRTLP fuse and the ignition power runs from the radio fuse? :?

Interior lights (thru the BEM), BEM (smartlock), radio

To operate in IGN or ACC positions - the CRT LP power input is for 'keep alive' power - otherwise with the factory radio, you'd have to enter the code everytime you switch it on. Also IIRC, the radio will operate for an hour after main power is switched off.

Fuses blow for a reason - you need to find that reason. Check all your interior lights - glovebox (the connectors are pretty close), footwells, overheads including domelight, radio connector. The BEM might have an internal problem, but I'd check the above items first.

Most of the accessories I've added in I'm pretty sure are running off the cigarette lighter wires, so none of them should be the drama.
I'll check the interior lights tomorrow - maybe, tonight I'm going out on the piss...
