there was an additional loom u could get to add cruise to a GLi.
if ur car has abs then it would have the futura loom.

yes it is. from wat i know all falcon have the conncetion for the crusie control but was not installed in models like the gli. you can check by looking above the brake pedal there is a connection for the crusie control that disarms the cruise control when the brake is touched.

the cruise loom was only in the gli models that came with the abs option. otherwise it was a supplementary loom from ford

abs was an option as far as i know, correct me if i'm wrong, on gli models. if the car had abs then the cruise loom is fitted in with the abs loom. all as one.

As always, check the docos - http://www.fordmods.com/forums/documents.php?doc=11 . AFAIK, you can't buy the engine bay harness any longer - wreckers is the only option - make sure you get the loom all the way through the firewall that goes to the big white connector behind the fuse panel. If the clutch switch is needed, grab that as well, along with it's loom and plug.

GLI's without ABS may still have the 4 pin plug hanging down in the cavity where the charcoal canister is - it's a big job, but can be done. . . .

so the engine bay harness you speak of, is that a small seperate loom which was used to add cruise to a non-abs non-cruise gli?

On ABS models, it's intermingled with the loom that has the Oxy sensor, P/steer switch, brake fail lt, wipers, etc - the cruise module plug, and the master cylinder plug, will probably be taped to the loom.
Apart from the FM doco, you can PM Itchi One (Paul) - he's knocked up a doco (excellent), and has fitted cruise to a GLI w/o Cruise.

I already have cruise on my gli - I was curious to know which loom it ouwld have had as I was thinking about how hard it would be to add abs braking.....
