Hey guys, just thought I'd pass the question around of who here has an ef/el with a cup holder that actually holds cups?
every ef and el i've been in, are all buggered like mine so i thought i'd ask and see who's do work and who's don't and see if anyones got ideas or tricks on making them work.

They are all s**t and can't fit a large maccas cup, hell medium cups can be a b**ch too. I have found no solution besides putting my wallet/phone in the spare one to hold up the stupid thing...just means there is one cup holder.

I have seen people putting some spring mechanism into it for extra strength or added extra bits and pieces to the locking mechanism to hold it into place.

Overall, massive fail on cup holders by Ford on that one.

nope, they are s**t, even if the drink is the right size, if you hit a bump as you brake, the holder drops and s**t goes everwhere :/ i use it to hold random bits and change, when my dashboards out i keep my screws there so they arent lost,

I lost a whole large coke under my centre console when I had to brake hard one day.
Hit the brakes, cup fell forward, emptied itself into the area under the ash tray, then disappeared under the console!

Its not a cup holder.

Its a coin/bits holder with backwards spoiler.

it doesnt bother me enough to improve on it because my cars auto i always rest my arm on the centre consol and with a drink in the holder i just hold the " coin/bits holders bakwards spoiler" up with my hand 8-)

+1 on that, although I wouldn't mind having the freedom of not being paranoid when i brake.
bottles just get wedged between the seat and the console.

OK! you can disassemble half your console and re-notch the arms inside or you can go to officeworks and buy two clips and away you go! This was my first mod - bit lame but I've never lost a drink since! Will hold 600ml Pepsi Max and new slimmer 600ml Coke as well!

Worst cup holders ever lol
Ford Definatly didn't test them. I has 2 maccas cups in mine hit the brakes one went onto my side under My feet the other on the passenger side lol
Ive also lost icces too. I have that paranoia of My cups flying out so I hang onto them
While changing gears.
I use them for my phone and holding screws.
