i was looking at some computer fans to screw in behind the lights to blow the air forwards into the boot instead of behind the panel.
but only time will tell i guess |

I have fitted these lights in my house and it never occurred to me that they were twelve volt and would work fine in the tray of my ute . Keep us up to date on the heat problems.

Yeah these lights are 12V, so no transformer is needed of course...
It would look good with a carpeted tray all down the sides of the ute, with a few LED's scattered around the place. You can also get some 'Bud' lights, which are little 20W Dichroic downlights, that come in a small fitting, about 25mm in diamter or so. Depending on how long you run them for, would determine how much space i would want behind the lights. Just remember, these lights get red hot. Hot enough to start fires in the roof of your house, so... xhute0, there are also 240V downlights that look almost identical, but are no where near as good. And of course, no real use for you ute. |

Won't be carpeting the sides (bit carried away if you've seen my ute; check gallery) but would be ideal for overnight stays in the swag

Huggiebear,
I found out about the LED coloured golbes, that change and fade in and out of colours. I can get them for $60 a globe, and $15 extra for the remote that controls them. Their my prices, as a trade through Middy's and trust me, that pretty good, considering i saw the price that their sold for, and what Middy's buy them for. ALso, the electronics are definately built into the globe, and the transformer, is only different due to having to operate such low wattages, compared to a normal electronic tranny. If you want any other info, or anything, just let me know. I also took a couple of pics on my phone if u want me to send them to you, not all that good, but might give you idea of the remote. If you head down this path for your setup. Dave |
