Not too keen on the first steering wheel but the second one looks cool.
Awesome job on the parcel shelf....It looks spot on and matches the rest of the interior.

sorry to hijack thread, but is there anything else you could cover it with that would look good and mould alright? I have vinyl on my sub box, and it doesnt like being stretched at all.

Mate its definately looking good. Interior and out.
Just wondering how strong the parcel shelf is? Does fibreglassing the lycra give much strenth? It would look really nice with some white leather seats, definately put up some photos when you get them done. |

have you tried using a heat gun carefully, I use a heat gun on leather to get the wrinkles and stretched bits out of the lounge suites I repair at work.

there probably is other things i could cover it with, but i want the white luxury look of leather, the vinyl is temporary, as for strength the whole thing is very strong and light. it doesnt flex for me, when i was putting the shelf back in i had to cut the back corners off because the old cardboard type one flexed and goes in without a hassle but now because its solid it wont go in without cutting the corners off. there not seen anyway.
Next things im gonna be making are, A-pillars with tweeters in them so they look factory, and might make the right one with 2 guages in it for if i ever get the car turboed. Also gonna make a cover for the radiator overflow tank, like the one in the Predator, should be starting that tomorrow. ill show pics |

Neat custom work mate, good stuff. The fibreglass over fabric works awesome.
If you wanted to match your steering wheel to the rest of the interior whilst keeping the airbag, F100Girl is advertising leather re-covers: http://fordmods.com/forums/viewtopic.ph ... 817#637817 The pics of her work so far look pretty good.

yeah if you go leather, you can heat wrinkles out with a heat gun. and you can take out lines and dents with it too.
Works a treat, just be careful and say have a practice go on some scrap.
