The last few days i been making this, first of all i was gonna cover the original one in white vinyl as you will see im doing the whole interior white.


STEPS:
1st: I ripped the old material stuff off that ford put on there.
2nd: Made up some mdf rings to suit 6" speakers.
3rd: Made up a a little box bit for the Playstation 2, with a slot for the cooling, and a slot for the power and AV out, so you wont see the wires
4th: Stuck the rings to the parcel shelf using glue gun, made little legs for the rings to give extra support
5th: Went to spotlight bought about 70cm 145cm of Lycra (because it stretches both ways unlike fleece which only stretches one way)
6th: Stretched the lycra over the rings and everything else to give the fibrglass and bodyfiller the shape and support while working it
7th: mixed some resin and catalyst and painted it on the lycra so the lycra would go hard.
8th: waited for it to set
9th: couldnt be bothered using the fibrglass matting and more fibreglass because it doesnt need much strength
10th: put some body filler on it and smoothed it around
11th: sanded for about 2 hours
12th: more body filler
13th: sanded for 3 hours ((((( PHOTS TAKEN NOW ))))
14th: was getting alot smoother now and put some spot putty, waiting for it to dry now over night, will sand it again in the morning and make it all smooth and finished, then have to paint it white

it may look crap in the photos and you cant really see how good the shape is when its in the car, those photos are of while i was test fitting it in the car. Test fitted the PS2 again and it sits so nice in it, flush and tight.
It looks like the speakers would be touching the glass, its not.

heres some pics of how my interior is coming along
all of it I have done myself, heaps of prep work removing and cleaning everything

Im still looking for a trimmer to do white leather seats for me. then the carpet I will go black, im after a bit of white carpet to do the 2 front door pods unable to find any, does anybody have any laying around. spotlight had blue which would be ok but they said they only receive it and cant order a specific colour.

Thats a lotta white!!!!! Looking pretty good tho (glad I don't have to keep it clean!!! )

its actually easy to keep clean, because once i see some dirt i rub it off with a little microfibre cloth comes off straight away easy as.

you have a sun glass holder right? almost burns my eyes with the brigtness of "a thousand suns".. kidding.... does look good and i am too glad that im not cleaning it.. parcel tray looks good.. will be seeing how that comes along...

yep i now have to drive with sunglasses on in the day because the sunlight reflects off the dash onto the windscreen back into my eyes, it looks good though.

once i finish the parcel shelf i will post some more pics.

do you mean the guages, like speedo and rpm's, its one of those electroluminescent clusters off ebay, looks mad as at night glowing brightly, doesnt come out in photo with a flash.

I would definitely go with the 1st steering wheel if possible but isnt there some legality issues with airbags and such

That is absolutely aweseom job mate!! well done. So did you just use the resin mix and hardenere that come with a fibreglass kit and paste it all over the lycra to make it hard? I've wanted to do avery similar thing with my parcel shelf but dont really have the time.

ive made a few things out of fibreglass now, first thing i made was a subwoofer enclosure to fit perfectly in the boot against one side, i no longer use it now becuase im doing a boot install, made a 3 gauage pod pillar thing for a VS commodore for my mate, and now this, i got the fibreglass resin and hardener from my dads mate.
its easy to work with but smells strong, just gotta mix the right amount of catalyst then paint it on with a brush onto the lycra (a think coat) and it will harden. make sure lycra is pulled and glued down tightly because it sags sometimes and thats annoying later on.
