From memory, groups of 5 beeps means an airbag fault.

Check the airbag fuse first. my grandfather's ef was showing the airbag light and it was just the fuse.

The dash will beep, if it tries to show a warning light but detects the bulb for it is blown. Check all your bulbs.

well it hasn't happened again yet and the air bag light comes on and turns off as normal when you start the car so maybe it was a freak thing? forgot to mention it is a fairmont cluster so it has all guages and none of them where moving at the time they where all where they should be

I've got a mont cluster now too.

Maybe a freak thing, did you do a diag test? (you know hook up a light to the diag pins and count the flashes).
