I installed blue globes on my instrument cluster and i know its been discussed before but i can't seem to find it - where can I get brighter globes or how can i make the cluster not so dull? How would i go about scraping off the orange filter?

u want Narva LED's part number 47902
sand them with some 150 grit sand paper to 'frost' the LED's so they disperse the light better
do a search, there are pleanty of other threads on this...

there is a pic of the cluster before and after i frosted the globes, u will notice a more even spread of light after they have been frosted (all dials lit up evenly)

When you guys say 'frosting' does it only mean sanding it down a bit? and if so then how far?

You mean for the Narva lights? I did some reading on them on their website and they seem to be the right fit for the dash so all you need to do is just 'frost' them and then put them in...

see the attatched picture, it shows the Narva LED, they are a straight swap with the standard ones, u dont have to change holders as the Narva ones come with holders..
just make u sure u put them in right way, if u dont match the polarity of the LED's with the dash the LED's will not light up at all...

and on the frosting bit, u dont need to sand them down, u just want to scuff up the surface of the LED.

excuse quality of photo, was taken with camera phone.... :)

With those narva LEDs you dont have to change resistors or fuses or any s**t do you?
May have to undertake a similar dash mod using them globes.

no, no changing of fuses, holders or anything... they just plug straight in...

u dont need to sand them down, u just want to scuff the surface of the LED, and maybe just flatten the top a tiny bit...
