A do it yourself wreckers, however, I doubt a retail outlet will separate one.
Average Price for a complete basic cluster is around $40.

Ford were still selling them a while ago so try there first then a wrecker or Ebay for a low series cluster.

If you lower your steering column down you can sometimes get enough clearence to get a decent sized screw driver in. It will also make removing the dash cluster easier!

Is there any other kind of cluster that will fit and work or am I better off getting original?

Cluster or perspex for cluster?
Have a read of the cluster types: http://www.fordmods.com/forums/Changing ... s-d14.html I have a few police ones if interested.

Perspex for cluster, I went to the wreckers and dismantled one today, but I could be swayed into changing the whole cluster if I found something cool, are there people who make custom clusters?

These two bolts (as in picture?) I think they should be added to the DASHBOARD REMOVAL TEXTS! Also - I never managed to work out how to pull out the steering column, but I did get the dash out sweet as just by dropping the column towards the floor. Admittedly, it probably helped that I did not have a steering wheel on the column at the time! I am not a mechanic and it seemed easier to leave the column alone... I don't know about putting the dash back in tho. That may be a different story... |
