The globe for the high beam light in the dash is a T5, they all are.

Cig lighter is T5

Trans light is T10

Parkers are T10, except just use white not blue.

Some bulb holders are not separable from the globes, and we obviously need to swap the bulbs in at least 6, so you may have to pull out some other bulb holders, like the indicator ones for example, and swap them with the ones that illuminate the dash, and are not separable.
If that made sense...

The blue and white means the bulb holder. The white ones you can easily remove the bulbs but the blue bulb holder requires more effort and they aren't soldered it just requires more effort to take the bulbs out from the blue bulb holder. When you take out the cluster then you will see what we are talking about.

i have my cluster out and those blue bulb holders, but i cant seem to get the dam bulbs out..im replacing 6, ive smashed 3 of the bulbs already as i got told to use pliers and well...didnt work..
autobarn told me they come out but are tricky..and repco told me they dont come out at all.
at the bottom it seems as though the wire is attatched to some piece of metal as that moves when the bulb moves..any help is appreciated as i really want to finish this tonight.
also can i start and move my car with the dash off and unplugged? just wondering incase smartlock has a features and wont allow me to do so..
thanks

Im not exactly sure on how you get the bulbs out of the blue holders as i thought that they were soldered in but apparently not the case, but they would be a bit harder to pull out. Anyways the white and black holders can have the bulbs removed so if you enough black holders or white holders in the cluster but in different positions use them instead and swap the blue holders into the other postions if you get what i mean

You say you're replacing 6 of them, are they the ones for the speedo and tacho? On all of the EF/EL clusters ive seen the 6 bulbs for the tacho and speedo are all white bulb holders unless they have previously been replaced

As for starting and moving the car without the cluster on, i wouldnt have a clue but i guess it wouldnt hurt to try lol. You could always just plug the cluster in and start the car and move it if you're worried about it. It wont hurt to have the rest of the dash off though, i drove around for about a week waiting for my LED's to arrive in the mail with just the cluster plugged in, with the rest of the dash (trip comp and all the other switches) sitting in the garage. Made it interesting when i went to the gas station one night to fill up and i didnt have a fuel tank release button anymore, ended up figuring that one out though

well the blue bulbs dont come out..ive smashed 4, black and blue ones do, the reason i was trying to get the blue ones out is that i got told they were the ones to do..then realised they arnt the ones and it is the 6 white ones around the dash but i could only get 4 working so the fuel and temp gauge arnt fully lit..but heres what i got anyway..

im goin to change the odometer and the trip comp, was think a blue/violet colour for something different..but not sure yet. the leds i got were off ebay and had 3leds per one.

Geoffy,
They came out all right but what happened to the gauge needle lights?? Did you forget to put the other bulbs/leds in?

cant see the needle with blue light unfortunatly...i read on these forums somewhere about putting different covering on the needle so you could see it or something. not sure though, ill look into it and get back when i find something.
