Go to a wreckers and get some EF seat belts, should be pretty easy! keen to see some photos, got a thread on it? Dam why did EL's have to come with grey belts that's a down grade lol. Ok, well thanks for that. I haven't started a thread on it yet, but am likely to soon!

My EF has grey belts
Mine is a late EF though, apparently. It has the EL power steering unit that requires a different fluid, as I discovered when it bled itself dry. |

BLWN_EF wrote: A few months back. I resprayed the dash black with other plastics in the car, which weren't primed properly (due to a dodgy mate) and now I'm well under way.
New leather seat covers (ivory cream with black stitching), gear stick cover, handbrake cover, console cover, door trims, and parcel shelf have all been ordered. (due about December 13-15th) The past few days, I've resprayed all the doors black, as all the plastics and carpet will be black. I took a few photos, they're a bit "glossy" as it's only been done today, but as it dries it will become a little more settled. Here's a few pictures of the door trims, more photos to come as i progress through this. By Christmas I'll have a brand new interior I'll keep you all posted! Can't keep my hands of the interior, just want to work on it non stop. pls tel me wat product did u use to paint? |

VHT vinyl die for the vinyl (get it from repco)
just a flat black plastic spray for the plastics (2-3 coats of primer first)

Haha, apparently both myself and my missus are retarded. Both of us thought my car had grey seat-belts. I would have stood up in-front of a firing squad and swore that my car had grey belts.... So I was driving with her (at night) and brought up going to the wreckers to get black belts and looked down at my seat-belt..... it's f**k black. Definitely happy to be wrong about that one! |

And yes, it sure was fun ripping everything out =] I'm looking forward to a write-up on the priming and painting methods he used... I've never seen a black-dash job look so neat and well finished. |

I havnt gone to the extent that BLWN has but I left my dash in, and simply masked up the windscreen and everything else, 100% sure that I'll be doing that for the bottom half as well.

Have you had any issues with paint from the door trims rubbing on the rubber door surrounds?

i was just in my car then playing with a few things cause it is registered just yet.
cant wait to get dash all painted and carpet changed and my seats reupholstered/covered. the grey is a terrible colour with the blue seats.... my opinion. ..... i had a look at the dash and it looks to only be held in by like no more then about 8 screws...???? is this right???? |

Yeah there are a few slight marks where the door trims have rubbed onto the grey pinch mould, only if you look closely. Hopefully get around to getting some black pinch mould soon anyhow. Too be honest, I tried to take my dash out, but I looked into it and it proved to much work when it was so simple to paint it in the car, I think there is a thread related to dash removal, and its not as simple as 8 screws.
