I'll also recommend getting carpet from that place. I got the exact same carpet from there for my car. Black as well, fits perfectly. Looks like the car came with it.
Looking very nice man, keep it up!

any auto trimmer should sell the pinch weld covering by the meter. i dont think ford used black so they would be pointless. if the motor trimmer is too expensive try clark rubber or something simlar

Quote: What is the pinch weld cover?? Sorry for being a noob!! It's the cover around the doors that covers the metal. here's a photo so you can see first hand. I bought all my paint from Milsome's Auto Paint, I will take a photo tomorrow and post it up here. see the strip that goes around your door, also fold your rear seats down and look where the parcel shelf fabric wraps under the parcel shelf itself, you will see it holding it on

Out of curiosity, why would simply painting them be a problem? Is it just that removing them and replacing them impacts on the fit of them? May I ask how much this carpet was? This black interior caper is looking more and more tempting every time you post a picture of it..... It looks like a massive job but it also looks quite fun. |

Is it just that removing them and replacing them impacts on the fit of them? na not that at all, its the fact that paint isnt ment to flex, so when you paint them and fit them and open and close doors on them all day they crack and peel off. also with having a door rub against them they rub off onto the door, leaving the factory colour showing in spots and black unremovable marks on your door's paint. my dads an auto trimmer so you learn these things over the years. i wish it was as simple as painting them. but i love how this is turning out. may i ask why you chose 2 piece carpet over single piece? was it just availability? there are 2 or 3 places on ebay i found the other night that sell single piece carpets for the person who was asking (i think it was this thread. too lazy to re-read it all) |
