May I ask how much this carpet was? This black interior caper is looking more and more tempting every time you post a picture of it.....

It looks like a massive job but it also looks quite fun.

Carpet is great, so COMFY and soft.
It's not that big of a job really, i've pulled apart my car a few times so it was only a matter of about an hour or so to strip it, carpet took a few hours to put in and cut holes for everything.

Easy job if you're bored on a weekend!

may i ask why you chose 2 piece carpet over single piece? was it just availability? there are 2 or 3 places on ebay i found the other night that sell single piece carpets for the person who was asking (i think it was this thread. too lazy to re-read it all)

I chose the two peice as Knox Auto Carpet is just around the corner, and it's been recommended it Street Machine and by other ford mods members, so I just stuck to the local guys as I heard all good things.
And I'd definatelly recommend it.

I used Motospray Vinyl Interior Paint, just a satin black (low gloss) for the plastics. I know it says "Vinyl" but its for vinyl, plastic and some carpets.
It's worked well so far and it's not too expensive either.
$15.25 for a 400mL can from Milsome's Auto Paints.

For the dash vinyl i used a Vinyl die from Repco, just some VHT and it worked a treat.

Sounds exactly the same gear I used mate, VHT Satin Black Vinyl Dye and Acrylic for the plastics. My cars just a work hack at the moment so Im not even considering the carpet at the moment, but everything else is slowly getting darker. When its not sitting in the sun for 10hrs a day at work I might look at getting some leather seat covers, black with white stitching probably and get a bit more serious everywhere. Next is the glovebox, fuse panel and glovebox and all the side trims around the doors. Also on the lookout for the chrome door handles if anyone selling.

cheers for posting those, how did you go about changing the color of the badge on the passenger side of the dash.

the big oval shaped long badge which says XR6 in my car.

i'd love to know how to get that ivory color as well!

Its as simple as prising it off with a flat head screwdriver mate, the little (in my case) gli badge on the spear also just popped off as well, Id say it was glued on from factory so I reglued it, the long spear then just pops back in, its got 3 of those butterfly clip things.

Edit: Sorry I just realized I was answering from my new account, Dumpi_windsor was an old one that I'd rarely used, so just starting afresh.

i hope your putting ivory cream pn those door inserts to

i think the door handles would look better either black or chrome as well, especially with new ivory trim

Yeah all inserts will be ivory.
All the ivory with black stitching will be...
Seats, door inserts, handbrake cover, gear stick cover, centre console lid and parcel shelf.

Door handles will be most likely ivory to blend with door inserts.

Linz, I like your cluster... Is that something you did yourself or did you buy it?

You might be meaning mine? Linz was just quoting my post. The faces I had custom made from a guy off ebay, fpv head in the middle without the letters, its white writing but the best thing is, I still have stocko bulbs behind but at night it comes up blue/red. I went for the ba look. And then just finished it off with silver fascia. Theres a night time pic in my gallery.
