hey all

haven't pulled the fault codes as-yet, but heres the problem:

c/c works great in summer - A/C is cold as. in winter however, different case. set temp to 32oC, is hot @ feet, but cold coming from other vents, no matter how hot/cold the car is running. no matter what settings i play with its only hot from the feet at low fan speeds.

i'm hoping its not the blend door, maybe the heater tap or thermostat?

cheers!

If it hot coming out of the feet vents, then I can't see it being the heater tap or thermostat. Maybe blend door, let us know when you pull the codes.

you should be able to get to the blend door motor to visually see if it is working on the outside, if it is working properly on the inside i don't know. it is a big job ripping a lot of the dash out to do it though.. snap0964 and datamine might be able to shed more light on it!

have a search for climate control blend motor in this interior forum. Plenty has been posted on it. essentially it is in behind your glovebox

until you need to defrost the windscreen - you should make the effort to fix it or you might have a crash!

I'd suggest doing a self test for starters - it also calibrates the blend door motor.

And, unlike a lot of threads where people post their problem and then disappear - actually post back your findings . . . :o

So could you hear the BDM actually operating - along with the 'thud' of the door itself ?? Best way to know is to do the test with IGN on, engine not running.
Have you confirmed that you're getting hot water through the heater core?? i.e. both hoses at the firewall feel hot, and if not, checked the heater tap for operation - vacuum is required to turn it off, so pull the vaccy hose while running to confirm ??
