Need some help diffusing these LED's so there isn't such a prominent 3 points of light, i also already have a bit of paper in there.

It is extremely bright behind it but the 3 lights are just going to be too annoying at night.

have u tried putting another peice of white paper behind the current 1.

the paper should spread the light out abit more.

why r u putting 3 led's in there any way?

Try covering the LED's with a layer of clear silicone from Woolies. You can fiddle with thickness etc then. Put thicker silicone on the middle, and make it go to a flat as you get toward the edges. Should diffuse nicely.

or, hacksaw a coloured oval lighter in half. Perfect shape already. You could use that for the shape and silicone that on :)

Use up all the gas first tho :P

just use a normal globe and a coloured peice of paper, will be easier.

Anyway cheers for the comments i'll put them all to practise and see how they go.

get a brighter led, around 8,000mcd, you won't need 3

ask them at jaycar, they'll know what your on about

then sand the top flat and sand around the edges

works for me

And Gaz is the winner!!!!!

i Angled two at the bottom downwards and the top one up so the direct beam was out of view and it's bloody nice even during the day.

i used 3 lights as 1 single led just didn't disperse enough light during the day for my liking and also sanding them did naff.

I'll grab some pics tonight just to show how bright it is.
