Just wondering if anyone here has ever fitted a cabin air filter to a EF/EL Falcon?

I'm in the middle of rebuilding the aircon unit for my car and after cleaning all the crap out of the evaporator I want to stop it from happening again. As far as I can see the opening between the fan and evaporator is about 11cm x 7cm. It also appears to be reasonably accessible from the bottom. I was thinking of cutting the bottom of the case out and making a small frame up attached to a cover plate that will hold a filter in place.

Any thoughts?

The easiest thing you can do is while repairing the recirc box (the flap arm usually breaks) is glue a square of flyscreen over the intake opening, then redo the foam surround.
I've never had any leaves jam in the blower fan ever again.

yeah, fixed the flap arm already :) glued and screwed... it shouldn't break again. And all the foam has been done.

If you glue a piece of flyscreen over the opening, how do you clean it?

Well obviously you don't. It will let finer particles through, larger particles not. I've had no problems with it blocking up.

Fair enough... I still think I'm going to do the replaceable mod for mine. I'll pop some pics in as I do it.

Yeah, see how you go.
I'd say still go with the flyscreen also - very effective in keeping leaves out.
