*paint on chrome will be more of a silvery colour and is likely to fade or chip over time.. -ive tried it..

*chrome dipping the standard plastic parts.. -how expensive is that?

*i got quoted only $15 ech for the EF/EL chrome door handles with the grey plastic surround.. -from "Ford pro" smithfield NSW..

If you can get them for $15 each then ill take 8. (a spare set to sell off and a set for my car).

I was at ford...knowing that the chrome handles cost 100-150$ a set of 4 i decided to ask how much they are worth. Adrian Brian Ford wants $90 each for them.

I got a photo.

Painted the surround satin black (like the rest of the car).

What i did is one coat. I sanded that then did another 3 coats (i was happy with 2 but someone here touched it).
I just picked it up too early too and put more marks on it.

SO ill sand the marks out with a 1500 wet and dry (cause that works best and doesnt kill the chrome). Then give it a final coat. Im also thinking of clear coat to keep it perfect.

look BA ish.

Once the paint has gone hard (about one day) give the handles a polish, this will bring the shine up a bit more

Its the spetone paint. Well brand is Septone. The paint is called bright chrome.
I found it at super cheap and decided to give it ago. For $15 what great loss is there???

The camera on the phone didnt like focusing on the pain cans well because of the reflection of the chrome on the top of the can and the TV

I know they arnt as good as the real ones but hey. Its an mod that noone else on fordmods has done yet. It may even work good enough that most people do it.

Ill try giving them a polish later.
