hey all new to the site and would like to share my quick easy way of fixing those sh***y ef/el cupholders where the arms are loose as a goose and are pritty useless
after playing around with my one at home i come up with this ...

all u need is 2*28mm chipboard screws and 18-20mm thick weatherstripping or foam bout 2 inches of it should b plenty

step 1: First thing first unscrew the 2 screws holding the cupholders in at the top of the console, then unplug ur elecrtic window switches( if u have electric windows).

step 2: Next remove the 2 screws that hold the black piece onto the cupholders located underneath the cupholders. ( refer to pictures below if need be).

Once the screws are loosened the black plastic should b faily loose.

Step 3: Next put the foam or weather stripping at the back of the cupholder.( refer to pictures below if need be) ,once foam is inserted the arms should b tighter and should stay up ( note the arms on the cupholders should be just tight enough for them to stay up but also go back down) if they are then u have done it correctly now all u gotta do is screw the black piece back down

step 4: Grab ur 2 28mm screws and replace them with the original screws that you took out.
step 5: reconnect ur power window switches ( if u have power windows ) clip the front in first and then screw the two screws up at the top of the console and your done !
