I think so. The only hassle will be finding a 7 segment display that is yellow, and the right size.. or an LCD one. Perhaps hack up a speedo?

Snap. I thought it would be great to have an LCD Display - perhaps 16 character.
Could show : Selected Gear (lever), and Current Gear (Gearbox), as well as Staged Gear (gearbox) if one had time to play. Would be cool to look at... perhaps. |

Be good I suppose if you were running a BA shifter with Muzza's electronics (tiptronic) - ala Dellboy's setup on here from a few years ago.
Perhaps add manual override for converter lockup - I did play with this once upon a time, wasn't bad actually. There was a guy who implemented an even better version - threads are all still on here.

Im going to stay with the standard shifter for now, however my plan is to go with a leather boot similar to the later commodores, and have the gear position indicated on the dash instead.
The Actual gear stuff can be done by using a PIC to check the solenoid lines... and if you know what they are doing you can work out what gear your in, and whats being staged. Nigel |

IIRC in the Ford shop manuals in the BTR section, the solenoid sequencing is all there - S1,S2, etc.
