Thanks for the other suggestions guys.
Fuz - Ill give your steps a go one night this week. seeing as I replaced my interior with XR bits (and removed the door trims at the same time) a while ago....You have me thinking i diddnt put something back together and that could be my problem....?? Ill let ya's know how it goes... Cheers

I had a spare hour over the weekend to look at the passenger side actuator.... took the door apart, and it made no differance. It seems the actuator is stuffed - doesnt click or try to move at all.
Looks like 2 pot rivets holding the actuator in place.'Andone know how much a new one is? and if its hard to replace it yourself? Cheers

for a price ring a wrecker ... to replace all you need to do is punch out the center of the rivet then use a 5mm(? IIRC) bit and drill the rest of the rivet out.
Replace with 5mm or 6mm nuts and bolts - use a nylon nut so it doesn't come undone.

i've got 2x perfectly working smartlock actuators for $15ea with free postage if any one needs them...

Inside these babys are two diodes these can go open circuit or short circuit. When one of mine went short the systen continuously cycled. Very simple to check with a multimeter and replace with 1n4001 to 1n4007 at about 40 c each

that all sounds great..... but Im no good with electrics... would this sorta thing be worth looking into, or for around $15 just grab a new/second hand one??

If u can getthem for $15 do it. They usually go for $40 to $60

yep well i got a front door actuator and a back door actuator wasting space in my room, so $15 each for working actuators with free postage is cheap as chips. Just tested them on my own car and they work a treat!
