Wasn't sure which forum to post this up because it's kind of both interior and exterior, but here goes!
Rear passenger side door on my MkII BA stopped opening from the outside a while ago. Lift the handle, nothing happened. Still opened from the inside so I wasn't too concerned. But before I got around to ripping the trim panel off and trying to fix or replace the handle, I somehow (stupidly!!) managed to knock the child lock latch so now the door won't open from the inside either. So all I really want to do now is get it open just once so I can take the trim panel off, but since I can't open the door from the inside or out, any suggestions as to how I might get around that would be appreciated.

Can you pull the interior door handle off without the trim? if you can you might be able to pull on the rod or slide something like a metal coat hanger to get a hook on the door latch? If not, might need to jimmy the door.

Yeah I can get the interior handle off, pulling the rod does nothing though. I'll have to go fishing in there with a coathanger, hopefully I might be able to work it open that way. Thanks

Thanks yeah pulling the rod won't do anything, try and pull the rod to the outside handle hidden some where near the lock mechanism. good luck!
