just wondering... in the boot down to the right in the ef fairmont ghia there is an amp covered by moulded carpet to suit.... in the falcon of the same model, minus amp, is the moulded carpet the same OR is there a little extra space??? Hmmmm

hmmm - doubt it very much. only cars spec'd with premo sound got the necessary moulded boot carpet - however, i'm more than happy to be proven wrong - can anyone with a non-premo fairmont verify this? :?

From memory all ef models except gli had moulded boot lining. I am pretty sure that they are the same as the models with premo sound. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong though.

I am basing this on the fact that I have had an ef Futura, ef XR8, and ef Fairmont over the years and I am pretty sure they all had boot moulding carpet on the sides.

what i want to know is if there is moulded carpet there but no amp, is there a hollow? there where the amp would be allowing for more boot space? i ask this cos i am going to move the amp to be with my other amp and thought that it would be gr8 to open the boot space area a little (yeah like 2 pineapples worth!)

now that i think about it those amps arent too thick (like sum) so theres not much space there anyway! Ah well i guess the metal sheet would be great to mount a fire extinguisher to ....

Yeah there is a small hollow section, but I would personally leave the moulded carpet as little bit of insurance against something in the boot rolling around and hitting and denting the outer panel of the car.

Yeah the Xr6 has the moulded carpet but no amp obviously. Ive mounted the amp pretty much on the outside of this area using the same amp brackets and holes as a Ghia etc.. Looks good.
