Just about finished my alarm install and one of the few remaining tasks is to find somewhere to stick the flashing red light on the dash. I was thinking about sticking it next to the boot release/fuel cap buttons, but am a bit concerned about drilling into the AU dash because it is quite soft squishy plastic.

Just wondering if anyone's done this successfully before and how you went about it? Or alternative spots to stick the globe?

Cheers for your help!

there will be fine. just drill in slowly. just check behind the dash first to make sure you dont pierce anything else. you can ease of the boot release and fuel lid panel with a flat head screw driver then stick your finger in and feel around behind the dash to make sure nothing else is behind there like loose wires etc.

Mine is mounted op top of the steering column cover, next to the hazard button. I was too lazy to put it anywhere else

Actually that's not a bad idea! The plastic is a lot firmer there and as long as it is 1) still visible from outside and 2) not too intrusive inside, I don't really care where it goes!
