Hey guys
I'm having issues with my drivers window - when i wind it up, there is a lot of friction, and occasionally it becomes impossible to wind any further once half-way is reached. I think the reason for this is that the glass does not fit 100% perfectly in the housing (even though it is still the stock glass)... when i wind it up, it goes slightly diagonal and rubs against the guide closest to the front of the car. I have to pull the glass towards the back of the car to re-seat it so that it winds up. Does anyone know if someone else has had this problem? Does anyone know how i can fix it? cheers.

Sorry for the lack of knowledge, but what's this regulator? Sounds like something to do with electric windows, which i don't have...

Its the thing that makes the window go up and down. They are in both manual and electric but electrics seem to break more often.

This is a very common problem, the window regulator has a plastic runner that wears over time and causes the window to tilt as it goes up. With the window tilted the motor finds it harder to lift the window and usually needs a helping hand to get the window closed.
First thing you can try is to lube the window channels with silicone spray, this will help. Secondly, replace the window regulator. $150+ The Regulator is mounted with 3 large rivets that will need to be drilled out and then replaced with bolts to install the new one.

A guy here at Nerang does them for $115. Aftermarket ones though. Ask Happy about them.

Ok thanks guys, i'll try find a wrecked ford somewhere to rip certain things out of. Incidentally, will teflon spray also help, or is silicon the only way?

I tried teflon spray it didn't seem to work, though my regs were that stuffed I doubt any amount of magic spray would have. Since changing mine I maintain a smooth operation by spraying them twice a year with CRC 808 Silicone spray.

Yeah. Teflon spray works a treat... or just use normal wd40 or something like that in the window runners.
