i have purchased an au ltd wheel and want to dye it to match the rest of the grey interior in my ef. my question is who does this and how much will it cost? (its part wood grain so not too much areas to dye)

also will this fade/scratch/ wear off?

if anyone has this wheel in a grey falcon interior dyed or not please attach a pik.

I wouldn't do the steering wheel, just wouldn't last long. It's probably the most human contacted part of the car. Sweat from your hands, rubbing when turning, etc., I just don't think it'd last.

I've decided against dying my wheel. I think I'd rather try and track down a light grey airbag pad out of an LTD and get it to match that way (alhough that might not be an option with an e-series).

Personally the colour difference doesn't bother me that much in the AU. It feels so much better than the stock one and that more than makes up for a bit of difference in colour.

Those of us with grey interiors don't exactly have a heap of options

I got hold of a leather wheel for my wagon, it was worn pretty badly (colourwise), although the leather surface and stitching were okay.
I sprayed it with satin dark grey vinyl spray, and surprisingly after a few months of use (daily driving)it has worn really well - meaning the paint hasn't come off at all.
Could be worth a go - got nothing to lose, although if you can find vinyl spray a bit darker than the satin dark grey, it should match the airbag quite well, as it stands it's okay but could be slightly darker.

if the spray does start wearing off is there a way i could take it all off easily with out ruining the actual wheel?

i thought dying it would be the better option as to spraying it.. i guess it also depends if you dig your nails into the wheel while being in traffic...
