AFAIK the aftermarket ones are prone to not fitting correctly and in some cases sratching the glass...
Having said that though, me thinks uglybob has an aftermarket one in his car at the moment, and thus far has not had issues. Personally I would stick to the genuine ones. That way you know they fit right and are suited for the job. *Flips two cents into the arena*

speaking of which. my drivers side window.. when u put it up, it will get half way and slow down then stop, you have to grab the window near the front of the door and lift it up, which i tihnk makes it slot back into the runners at the rear of the door..
common issue? easy fix? i had a look one day but couldnt figure much in the way of how to solve it

I used to have probs with the electric windows going up in my car, but what i did was use some lube stuff and put it on the rails, electric windows work like a treat now

common issue? easy fix? i had a look one day but couldnt figure much in the way of how to solve it Spray Silicon Spray in the guides and run the window up and down., if that doesnt fix it then chances are the metal windoew guide is bent. I had this problem, so I fixed it by swapping the window guide with one from a manual one. I think I posted some pics about it a while ago. Will try and find them.

awesome, thanks ugly..
it definatly isnt a sticky problem, if you look at the window towards the back of the door when it gets stuck you can see the window is outside the frame

put one in on sat i bought from FTG. it moves a bit slower than the other windows, maybe i didnt lube it enough, but the fact that it goes up and down is good enough for me. its good value for $100 plus postage and 3 months warranty, considering local wreckers were asking $150 + for second hand regulators

What you can do is remove the door trim, lower the window, unbolt the window lower mount from the p/window slide assy (2 bolts), and physically lift the window with both hands as far as you can go (lifting it from under), and see if the rubber seals are jamming the window.
If not, you may only need to adjust the lower mounting bolts(2) - looks like your window front is a bit lower, causing it to jam in the channels. You may need to elongate the mounting holes on the p/window slide to give you enough adjustment - it will be easier to remove the p/window assy to do this so you don't damage the plastic slider. Try raising/lowering the window with the two mounting bolts handtight as well. It's a pain in the a***, but I've found this way is a better long term fix.
