Here's a little something I made up recently. The cupholders themselves come from a 1993 Nissan Blubird, $170 new. I got mine for $25 off ebay
Basically you cut the a*** off the slot-cavity of the H/U surround, cut some notches into the sides of the top side of the slot-cavity, and hold in place using screws and washers in the standard scew-mount-points on the cupholder unit. It's almost a perfect fit, and is a 20 minute job

I'm doing the exact same except to a EL console. The problem i have hit is that my BA shifter is to tall, how did you get yours to sit level with the top of the console?

Fordz, link no work? Well, in order to get the shifter down to console level, I erm, had to trim away at the trans tunnel hole. A custom boxing had to be made for the BA shifter housing to go in, then I poly-filled all the gaps left around the edges of the hole made. The box was bolted to the trans tunnel. I can't email the file to you here (56k), but if you want to check it out I could email it to you when I'm at uni tomorrow. PM me your address if you'd like that

i have cut a bit out of my tunnel as well, but my shifter still sits a bit to high for my liking, it is only a couple of mm from hitting the transmission
 . I think you get away with it becuase you are using a manual shifter surround with a leather boot covering it. Mine is going to look like a normal BA one.
Have you got any progress pics of the install you did? anyway i've PM'd you my email address.

Looks like it would work much better than the s**t Ford blindly installed, untested it would appear, into the EF/EL bubble cars.

lol just dont do what i did in my dads jumbuck ute. he has those kind of cup holders in it and me being pretty tall went to hop in it one day while i had my can of coke in it and my knee hit it and pushed it in, now as you push them in the bit that holds the bottom of the can folds up and this acted like a catapault which launched the can of coke into my lap drenchin me in coke and assaulting the ears of people passing by! lol
