All that is needed for this is a small counter sunk self tapper screw and a foam earplug.
Drill a hole in base of shifter knob inline with button groove (see diag 3) Counter sink hole so that screw head is recessed (diag 2) Fit earplug inside the back of groove (to cushion button when depressed) Fit screw making sure it doesnt bind on outer of groove or screw is too long. Hope this helps a few people..

Thats a hell of alot more cheaper than buying a whole new one... definately worth remembering.
Maybe consider putting together a documentation on it, and stick it in the technicals documents section or something. im sure alot of people have the same problem. Cheers

does these mean that the button is constantly in? i'd land up putting the car into reverse all the time when i change gears - yes, i am one of those retards that manually changes the auto box.

No u cant tell the difference from a brand new one in operation, the pin from the trans pushes the button back.
