Hi Fellas,

I have an EB Fairmont to which I looking at adding power windows too. I was just wondering if the loom that goes to the power windows from the switch control is an add on to the main interior loom or is it hidden somewhere as ford do at times?????

I have read the tutorial on how to wire it up with your own stuff but was looking at more of a plug and play option if you know what I mean..

Any input is appreciated :)

Im not 200% sure, but from memory if you dont have power window wiring now, its not in there.

The Fairmont and Ghia got the full power Harnesses.

you could just get a ea ghia, eb1 ghia or a fairlane body wiring and strip the power windows wiring and add it to the old wiring or if you get a body wiring out a eb fairmont that has power windows just put the whole lot in

of if you find a eb2/ed fairmont full harness put the lot in and youll have power windows and possibly smartlock too.

and get a cfc free climate control panel if you find a ed fairmont full harness

you may as well change to black buttons not grey on the dashboard, itll look newer too

hope it helps

as the owner of an eb1 fairmont who hes done the power window install i can confirm that the vehicle wiring is already there however on mine the rear door wiring was cut and taped from the factory
so just change the rear door wiring over(they plug in through the base of the middle pillars pry outer grommet out to get to plug everything else is plug and play
hope this helps

Up in the fuse panel in the dash, you may or may not have power on the power wdo fuse, if not, you need to supply it with some power, a mod I had to do for my mums ED Futura, but have not had to do on other car's. Her ED is fit with factory cruise, so I found it strange that I had to fix up that one little bit. Otherwise, plug & play that conversion was.

Cheers

The EB1 looms are very different from the EB11 onwards box cars.

For instance the cruise module is located under the dash to the right of the pedal box, where an EA one would be.

The only way to tell for sure, is to look under the centre console for the large white plug the power window switches would plug into, and then at the base of the A and B pillars.

Even if the looms are not present in your car, which I would be surprised at, then many members before you have made their own looms with great success.

Cheers

Just had a look and found the power window loom tucked to the right of the tunnel. So as u mentioned rustyeb it should just be plug and play right??

Should be.

Plug it all in, bolt the mechs in, give it a go. If it doesn't work, probably need to run power to the fuse in the fuse panel. Then it should be all good.

Cheers
