Ride: 1994 ED XR8 Sprint

Location: Perth
WA, Australia

Hey guys, i'm new here so i hope this is in the right place!!

My name is steve and i live in Perth W.A. I currently drive a 1994 ED XR8 Sprint.

History: I am the 3rd owner of my Sprint. The 1st owner also had a EB GT, with this he also had some fairmont or fairlane from the early 90's. When selling the Sprint to the 2nd owner he decided to remove the EB GT MOMO wheel from the Sprint and put it on his fairmont/ fairlane, leaving the Sprint with the less than charming EA - ED fairmont wheel.

Having now owned the car for some time is has become sort of a personal challange to aquire a EB GT MOMO wheel and restore the car to its former interior glory. I am aware that standard MOMO wheels are easy to purchase, however my Sprint has cruise control, and as such only a GT MOMO wheel with CC will do. I also wish to have the blue oval as the prominant feature of the wheel.

The possibility of aquiring a GT MOMO wheel however, seems to deminish somewhat every day, as i have been trying for some weeks now and have had poor results. If anybody has any contact details of rare GT stockists, of other possibilities could they please post em'. Also any suggestions as where to look next would also be great.

Cheers,

Kenezevic.

call me crazy, but try all the ford spares you can afford to ring up, sometimes if price is no object you can find what you are after.

Yeah, I have been calling so many ford spare shops, they all think i'm crazy for trying. The part is "obsolete" according to Ford & FPV Australia, can't blame them for saying that though, the part is now a collectors item... aarrgghh going crazy over here...

Cheers,

Kenezevic.

Good idea Happy, have not yet tried Partsfind, i must admit that my search has only recently employed the vast resources of the net. up untill now, most of my searching has been over the phone and random visits of ford stockists.

The DMac,

Cheers for that number, will call them next time the GF is not looking!!
However i think postage will be the real killer even if they have anything :(

thanks guys, helps is always on hand at Fordmods.com

cheers,

Kenezevic

postage for a wheel from melb to perth will be like 20 or 30 bucks at the most, nothing compared to what your wheel will be me thinks!! :P

Just tryed partsfind.com, seems they don't have special 'performance' catagories, so all i could find were standard falcon and fairmont wheels. I think i'll just give that vic place a call tomorrow...

Cheers,

Kenezevic.

Yeah i also looked in at ebay, couldn't see anything going, didn't seem to have a catagory for that kinda stuff, so i just used key words and the 'everything else' catagory. $300 sounds great, i heard of one going for $250 at a wreckers, but i don't think he realised what he had, worst part is the guy who bought it was the guy who bought my EB II Fairmont from me, now he's got my old baby and the MOMO wheel I need. :(

Cheers,

Kenezevic.

Yeah I sent a PM to him this morning. When you say cruise, do you mean the PFV and Tickford owners club of WA? or something i'm not familiar with? :?

Cheers,

Kenezevic.

Well I guess you can. Had a look at that WA/SA cruise forum, couldn't see any threads about an upcomming Perth cruise, maybe there isn't one happening in a while, which brings me to my next point... someone with more social pull around here should organise one!!! :)

Light the fires, and Kick the tryes...

Cheers,
