Do you have anything in particular you want to change?
eg whole dash to an EF/L piece? cluster to ef/l? AU centre console fits pretty well. Tyreshine fixes any buttons and the like which have gone grey/white. maybe some ED Fairmont/Lane seats and door trims? Theres a lot of things you can do |

if u havnt pulled out a dash before, give yourself a good day or 2, take your time, patiants brings perfection. it should only take you a 2-4 hours to do, BUT TAKE YOUR TIME. if you have the time, do it over a weekend, take lots of breaks and remember to breath lol

I just did the full EF Fairmont interior swap, and i couldn't be happier with it. The conversion was quite easy, and very satisfying. I highly reccomend it. Of course if your going to retain the EB loom and convert it to suit the new dash, speak to BENJ, this is how he did it.

If you mean what i did, i changed the entire dars loom, from front to back, and put all the electrics, interior and engine out of the EF in at the same time. Not too hard, just takes a day or so to run the new loom. Small amount of loom modification to do in the boot and the front right inner guard. If you mean what ben did, i think he made converter plugs so that all the EF dash switchs etc just plugged in, as for the cluster, apperantly you need to have the EF/EL engine and ECU for it to work. Unless you retain your cluster, and fit into the EF dash. It can also be easily done. Andrew.

If you run it on the EF/EL ECU, which is the easiest way to do it. As far as i know, everyone who uses an AU runs it on an EF/EL ecu anyway.
Andrew.

Well, my car was a base model GLI, it had nothing but power locks and mirrors from factory.
It now is pretty much an EF2 Fairmont, it has all its stuff. What made it easy is swapping the loom. It made it pretty much plug and play. Also i think it'd have to be quicker than modding all the EF stuff to suit the EB loom, and honestly, i'd do it again the same way. And even the price to fit all that s**t would be a fair bit, but i only paid $800 for a pretty much immaculate but front end hit Fairmont as a whole donor car. So i say, if the budget allows, DO IT. Ofcourse, it does depend on if you want the power windows/climate control and s**t, but i still woulda done it this way if the donor was only a Futura. Andrew.
