I've got an ed fairmont, and the electric window on the passenger front goes down, but grinds when going up.
can you repair these or do you have to get a whole new mechanism?

look around theres a thread explain how to fix it just need a new actuator or regulator or something like that

there is a little plastic bit that s**t itself, there is a doco somewhere detailing how to fix it.
