hey guys, have been reading the forums for the ed power window mods and am a little confused?? i have cruize control and abs, do i need any wiring looms apart from the door wiring looms? i am goin to do the el/ef door trim mod and upgrade to power windows, also was reading and i need to get some bolts from the wreckers or ford to secure the new door cards properly.... the wiring has really confused me!! any information or a tutorial would be greatly appreciated, and pics would be a bonus!!!

Thanks for reading the post and thanks in advance for taking the time to reply...

As your car has Cruise and ABS, you should have the high end floor loom. The easiest way to check is to look under the centre console for a big white plug, which is where the console window switches should plug in.

If it is there, then the plugs at the A and B pillars will also be there. All you would need to do is source the door looms from a Fairmont, the pwr window winders and door cards.

The bolts are used to hold in the winders in the doors as from factory they used really large rivets, that need to be drilled out to remove the old winders.

Hope that helps.

There is a Tech Doco for Power Windows. It is for EF/EL but is basically the same for EA-ED. The info I gave you above re the wiring loom and Cruise and ABS is not in it though.

These are found by clicking on the Resources tab at the top of the page, and then selecting Technical Documents.
