ok, a friend just installed a trip computer into his ED XR8, and hasnt yet hooked up the PWM wire to the ECU as he ran out of light, but he says when he turns the ignition on, the trip comp starts beeping, and switches to the "range" display with a reading of 0km.
if he starts the engine, the trip comp behaves normally and shows a range approximate to that of the fuel in the tank.
Is this normal or does it need the PWM wire or is the trip comp stuffed?
